Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

The short version: you can search without an account. If you create one, we keep your verses, reflections and prayers safe on our servers so they are there for you across your devices. We don’t build advertising profiles, we don’t run trackers, and we never sell your data.

Your account

You can use BibleFind to search and read without signing in. When you want to keep what stays with you, you can create a free account using your email address. We sign you in with a secure link rather than a password. We store your email so we can keep your space yours and send the messages described below.

What you create, and what we keep

When you are signed in, the things you make in BibleFind are saved to our servers so they follow you from one device to the next. That includes your saved verses and notes, your daily check-ins, your reflections, and the prayers you keep. To help the companion stay gentle and continuous, we also keep a brief private summary of the themes you have been walking through. This is yours, and is never used for advertising.

If you are not signed in, your saved verses, recent searches and translation preference are kept in your browser’s local storage on your own device instead.

Search and voice

When you search, your query is sent to our servers, and to the AI services we rely on to understand what you mean, so we can return the closest verses. If you use voice search, your device turns your speech into text. Only that text reaches us. No audio recording is ever transmitted. We may use aggregated, anonymised search patterns to improve results over time, but never to advertise to you.

Payments

If you start a premium subscription or choose to support BibleFind, payment is handled by our payment provider, Stripe. Your card details go directly to them and are never stored on our servers. We keep a record of your subscription status so we know what your account includes.

Email

We use an email provider to send the messages that keep your account working, such as sign-in links and subscription receipts and reminders. With your account you may also receive gentle prompts, like a daily verse or an occasional look back on your season. You can turn these off at any time from your account, or by using the unsubscribe link in the email.

How we understand usage

We use a privacy-respecting analytics provider to understand how BibleFind is used, so we can make it calmer and more helpful. This is about patterns, not people. We do not use advertising networks or cross-site trackers, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.

Your rights and your control

Your space belongs to you. From your account page you can export a copy of everything you have saved, or delete your account and the data we hold for you. If you are not signed in, you can clear what is stored on your device through your browser settings at any time.

If you would like help with any of this, just email us and we will take care of it.

The services we rely on

A few trusted providers help BibleFind work. Each only receives what it needs to do its job, and each is bound by its own data protection commitments.

Supabase

Hosts our database and signs you in. Stores your account and the verses, reflections and prayers you keep. Data is held in the European Union.

Stripe

Processes payments for premium and for supporting BibleFind. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.

OpenAI

Helps interpret what you mean when you search or reflect. Receives your query text to return the closest verses, and does not use it to train its models.

Resend

Sends the emails that keep your account working, such as sign-in links, receipts and the gentle prompts you have chosen.

Vercel and PostHog

Host the app and, only with your permission, help us understand how BibleFind is used so we can make it calmer and more helpful.

Data protection, plainly

BibleFind is the data controller for the information described here. We hold your data because you have an account with us and to provide the service you have asked for, to send the account messages you expect, and, where you have agreed, to understand usage so we can improve. You can withdraw consent for analytics at any time on our cookie page.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, the data we hold for you is removed. Some records, such as search history used to keep the companion gentle and continuous, are removed automatically after around thirty days. If you are in the UK or the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, use the export and delete tools on your account page, or email us at hello@biblefind.app. We will respond within the time the law allows, and usually much sooner.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the date above. Feel free to check back occasionally if this matters to you.
